[Yap State News Brief] WED Announces Gates Millennium Scholarship

The Gates Millennium Scholarship application for 2014 is currently available. This is a full scholarship and an excellent opportunity for current high school seniors who will be enrolling for the first time at a college or university during the 2014-2015 academic year.

 

Students are eligible to be considered for the award if they: Have attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 or have earned a GED; Will be enrolling for the first time at a U.S. accredited college or university as a full time, degree seeking, first years students in the fall of 2014; Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community service, extracurricular, or other activities, and; Have completed and submitted all three required forms by the deadline.

 

Individuals selected as Gates Scholars will receive funds in an amount to be determined by the Gates Millennium Scholars Program based on financial need. The award will be based on the cost of tuition, fees, books, and living expenses for the 2014-2015 academic year. The scholarship may be renewed annually based on satisfactory academic progress, full-time status, and timely submission of required documents.

 

Applications must be submitted online at www.gmsp.org. Please note that the deadline for all necessary documents will be January 15, 2014.
