[Yap State News] Yap Legislature Holds 10th and 11th Session Days

[YSL News Release] – The 10th Session Day was held on April 2, 2013, at Legislative Chamber with Speaker Falan presiding. Senator Raglmar-SUBOLMAR was excused.

Submitted by the Committee on Finance, Standing Committee Report No. 8-94, recommending passage on Bill No. 8-113 on first and second reading in the form attached hereto as Bill No. 8-113, D1, was adopted.

 

Bill No. 8-113, D1 was passed on first reading. Its title is as follows:

 

            Bill No. 8-113, D1:  A BILL FOR AN ACT, To amend Section 1 of Yap State Law No. 8-26, the Yap State Fiscal Year 2013 annual budget under Local Revenue, by specifying the sum of $116,396 appropriated from the General Fund of the State of Yap to be source from the Airport and Airway Operation and Maintenance Account, and for other purposes.

The 8th Legislature of the State of Yap adjourned its 10th Session Day of the 3rd Regular Session at 12:04 p.m. and will hold its 11thSession Day on April 3, 2013 at 10:00 o’clock in the morning.

 

11th Session Day:

 

 

The 11th Session Day was held on April 3, 2013, at Legislative Chamber with Acting Speaker Rutun presiding. Speaker Falan, Senator Masiwemai and Senator Raglmar-SUBOLMAR were excused.

 

The 10th Session Day Journal was deferred until the next session day.

 

There were no communications to be dealt with.

 

Bill No. 8-113, D1 was passed on second and final reading with 7 members in favor and 3 excused. Its title is as follows:

 

            Bill No. 8-113, D1:  A BILL FOR AN ACT, To amend Section 1 of Yap State Law No. 8-26, the Yap State Fiscal Year 2013 annual budget under Local Revenue, by specifying the sum of $116,396 appropriated from the General Fund of the State of Yap to be sourced from the Airport and Airway Operation and Maintenance Account, and for other purposes.

 

Bill No. 8-73, to amend Title 15 of the Yap State Code by adding a new Section 1201 on the sale and distribution of plastic bags, and for other purposes, was withdrawn from the Committee on Government, Health & Welfare and placed on calendar to be considered for first reading. After much discussion on the bill it was then passed for first reading.

 

During announcement, Senator Chieng brought to light a mix-up in scheduling meetings and that more attention is paid to scheduling meetings to prevent confusions and conflicts in the future.

 

The 8th Legislature then adjourned its 11th Session Day of the 3rd Regular Session at 11:06 a.m. and to convene its 12th Session Day subject to the call of the Chair.
