[Marianas Variety] Samoa opposition remains opposed to casinos
APIA (Pacnews) — The Tautua Samoa Opposition Party had admitted that there was nothing they could do about the development of the casino now underway, but their stand against it remains strong.
Tautua Samoa leader Palusalue Faapo 11 told the media that the green light has been given “and Samoa will soon be drawn into a spider web of gambling sorts.”
He agrees with the National Council of Churches that the casino will only bring more crimes and problems in communities and families.
“It won’t make money but will only bring more problems,” he said.
But Palusalue and the party are grateful that a local company, Aggie Greys Resort, was awarded one of the two licenses.
He believes Aggie Greys hotel success has contributed to being awarded a license.
